Most people don’t enjoy going to the crematorium for a funeral. You can feel like you are on a conveyor belt, time is restricted, it’s not a great atmosphere, a difficult space to make personal, and it’s expensive.
Did you know you effectively pay £675 for the 30 minutes you spend there?
So we have a possibility for you which many of our clients have said has enabled them to have a much better funeral experience. We hold the funeral ceremony at another venue. For funerals of up to 40 people, we have our own stone barn ceremony hall, Riverstone, at our beautiful funeral home right by the River Dart. Also we hold funerals at lovely local venues that can host a funeral for up to 250 people. Yours will be the only funeral for that day. Family and friends can gather slowly, have time to chat and connect before the funeral begins.
The ceremony is not bound by time. The space can be decorated and made to represent the person who has died beforehand. After the ceremony, the gathering after can take place in the same venue, using caterers or everyone can bring something. Even the larger, more expensive venues cost less than £675.
The cremation takes place the following morning with just Heart And Soul attending. This costs £475 compared with the full cremation fee of £1150 at Torquay crematorium (similar at Exeter and Plymouth). If you want to witness the coffin arriving and going into the crematorium this can be arranged for a small additional cost.
Feedback for a funeral held at Riverstone:
“We have held 3 family funerals at the crematorium over the years. We didn’t know you could do this. It makes such a huge difference. The funeral we have held for Dad was just as he would have wanted it to be.”
