- The maximum number of people who can attend is 30, and this may be less if the room is not large enough for adequate social distancing. (March 2021)
- We still can hold small, intimate funerals at our Riverstone ceremony hall by the River Dart. We can Zoom the ceremony to all those who can’t attend.
- You can still have a beautiful ceremony. Over 60% of funerals are now held by independent funeral celebrants who will reflect the life, values and beliefs of the person who has died.
- We are still able to dress the person who has died in whatever clothes are chosen and you can still come to Riverstone and sit with them.
- Most crematoria allow wicker, bamboo, banana leaf and cardboard coffins as long as the bottom is plywood, only insisting on solid coffins when the person has died with Covid.
- Churches are open for funeral services with up to 30 people.
- Natural burials are still allowed, providing beautiful places for less formal funerals. There are 13 in Devon e.g. Sharpham Meadow
- We can’t sing together at funerals but you can still have your music choices to listen to.
- Wakes, memorial ceremonies and ashes interments / scatterings are limited to just 6 people.
