Town Cemetery Burials
Usually on the edge of town, these burial grounds are run by the local authority. It’s best to go and take a look first, before deciding which location you'd like to go ahead with.
They can differ greatly in price, for example £603 in Totnes, £1,439 in Exeter for a single, owned prepared grave.
A headstone can cost between £500 and £2500. You can reduce the cost by not buying the rights to a grave, in which case you cannot personalise it with a headstone or other memorial, or you can buy a shorter lease and the grave could be reused in the future.
