The venue is a natural burial site and the ceremony will take place in a clearing in  a woodland which is about 5 minutes walk up a moderate hill from the parking. There will be benches and seating available , but please bring blanket/rug if you would prefer to sit on the ground. Bring a brolly and wear sensible shoes if it looks like rain. The dress code is not formal.

We leave it to you to decide whether you feel safe to attend and that you are symptom-free .

If you decide to attend we need to know in advance, and to have your full name, phone number and email for contact-tracing. Please send these to

If you decide not to attend then the event will be live streamed on Zoom , and filmed to watch later.  If you will be joining the Zoom please confirm this in advance, also to

Parking will be available at the site. Please also let Heart & Soul know if you will be bringing a car so they know how many vehicles are coming and can manage that safely. On arrival you will be directed where to park and then please make your way up to the spot where the ceremony will take place.

So in summary please:

  1. let us know if you are coming.
  2. give your contact details for tracing.
  3. let us know if you are bringing a car (for how many of you)’
  4. let us know if you want to join by Zoom.

Because of the risk of cross-infection, we will not be providing food or drinks, but please feel free to bring a picnic or snack and there is plenty space at the beautiful site to sit and eat in social bubbles after the ceremony.

No formal flowers, please, but if you would like to bring a garden or wild flower to put in the grave, you are very welcome.
