All contributions to her legacy should be sent to:
www.animalfreeresearchuk.org (formerly Dr Hadwen Trust) 01462 436819
Funding and promoting the replacement of animals in biomedical research
Jean stipulated this charity in her will. There will also be donations box available.
There will be a blessing for Jean at the end of the ceremony for those who do not wish to go / would find it arduous, to go to Bidwell Woods.
We usually have the coffin borne by friends and family and this is a particularly beautiful walk, up to the burial ground. The coffin is wicker and therefore light and Jean herself is very light. She may be carried “low” which would be easier for her women friends to participate as well, it does not depend on height. It would be lovely to have eight volunteers for this. (Six to carry, and two to swap in if needed)
Please wear sensible boots and rainwear – the path is grass and very wet.
We will leave Riverstone at approx 2.30pm. for Bidwell with Jean, and the self selected group. Everyone could share cars or we could hire a small bus, depending on the number. Please let us know of your intention so we may book a bus if necessary.
Everyone to return to Riverstone Hall and join those who chose to stay, for the gathering party of Vegetarian food and hot drinks as requested by Jean
